Payroll Specialist

Ace Express Coaches is searching for detail-orientated, highly motivated payroll specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of full-cycle payroll and be a quick learner of new systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operation.
• Ensures the accurate and timely processing of weekly and biweekly payroll.
• Ensure deadlines are met including the processing and review of established audit reports.
• Maintain a high level of proficiency with the payroll applications and procedures, with the ability to suggest new procedures.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on advanced payroll policies, methods, and procedures.
• Recommends changes to create efficiencies and enhance performance of Payroll Department.
• Gather information on hours worked for each team member to ensure accurate time reporting.
• Ensure payroll data is accurately input into ADP Workforce Now and Time and Attendance.
• Administer statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paper.
• Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and supervisors.
• Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.
• Perform high level audits on all payroll processes to ensure that information is accurate
• Stays abreast of federal and multi-state regulatory and tax laws.
• Maintains confidentiality with all payroll information.
• Practices and adheres to the Company's Principals and Beliefs philosophy.
• Other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Corporate Controller.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED:

• Policies & Procedures - articulates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems; including an understanding of internal controls within a consolidated payroll processing environment.
• Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.

PAY & BENEFITS

• $2,000 sign-on bonus for full-time employees
• Pay from $30 per/hour

TIME OFF

• Paid Time Off - start accruing immediately - at 3 hours per pay period or 2 weeks a year with option to rollover

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 5-8 years of payroll experience required
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Enhanced Time & Attendance.
• Certified Payroll Professional, preferred.
• Knowledge of federal/state/local tax regulations and the ability to analyze and provide solutions and or issue resolution.
• Proven record working with tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in a high-volume processing and fast paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT: Requires sitting throughout most of the day, interspersed with short trips throughout the office, dispatch, and maintenance shop as needed. Primarily an office environment. Materials and Equipment Used: Personal computer, 10-key, phone, and copier.
